THIRD ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
September 28, 2013 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church located at 1530 3rd Avenue, Charleston, WV with an awareness event beginning at 12 noon. Professional healthcare workers will be on hand to offer education and resource awareness Representatives include CarePoint Partners, CORE (Center for Organ Registry) and MANY others. The information session will be followed by This Is My Story beginning at 1:30 p.m., in which individuals share their "testimonies" in the form of written, spoken words, dance or song. There will be a memorial tribute to the late Teresa Staunton (wife of news anchor, Martin Staunton), organ donor, followed by a musical presentation from the world renowned Martin Luther King, Jr. Male Chorus,
Sis. Brenda Johnson, dance ministry by Timothy Jones and more at 2 p.m. This Is My Story serves as a source for sharing, healing and encouraging other individuals who may be going through some of the same health issues. ALZHEIMER'S AWARENESS LUNCHEON JULY 13, 2013 AT 12 NOON. REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE GREATER CINCINNATI CHAPTER OF ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION, ALONG WITH THE AREA AGENCY ON AGING DISTRICT 7 WILL BE ON HAND TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION.
PRAISE FEST 2013 AT 3 P.M.
WE WILL PAY TRIBUTE TO NATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST, PASTOR KENTON ROGERS. A MEMORIAL TRIBUTE WILL ALSO BE HELD IN HONOR OF MRS. ISABELLE EDWARDS.

CHILDREN'S AWARENESS EVENT 2013
FASHION SHOW SPONSORED BY THE CHILDREN'S PLACE
OUR SECOND ANNIVERSARY AND AWARENESS EVENT WAS HELD SEPTEMBER 8, 2012 AT SOUTH COMMUNITY CENTER. OUR WALK WAS RAINED OUT, BUT MANY CAME OUT TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT. SPECIAL THANKS TO THE SOUTH POINT FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR SHOWING UP TO HELP OUT. THE BALLOON RELEASE INCLUDED A PRAYER FOR DANIEL HUGHES WHO IS RECOVERING FROM A SEVERE ACCIDENT AND A MEMORIAL PRAYER FOR ALL THOSE WHO HAVE LOST THEIR BATTLE FROM SICKNESS/DISEASE.
DONATIONS WERE MADE TO THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER FOR LAWRENCE COUNTY AND A CHILDHOOD CANCER ORGANIZATION REPRESENTED BY STACEY THACKER.
PROFESSIONAL HEALTHCARE WORKERS FROM KDMC AND CABELL WILL BE ON HAND TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION AND SCREENINGS. PAST ENCOURAGEMENT BLANKET RECIPIENTS WILL BE ON HAND TO SHARE THEIR JOURNEY.

END OF THE YEAR COMMUNITY APPRECIATION LUNCHEON
The Cause sponsored a community luncheon on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Briggs Library South Point Ohio. Ms. Georgetta Ramsey and Adult Cosmetology Class of Collins Career Center, KDMC Community Outreach, the Area Agency on Aging #7 and Lawrence County Health and Wellness Initiative were on hand to offer information and education about resources and services that their organization offers.

Daniel Hughes is a South Point alumni/Ohio State student who was recently injured in a tragic accident when run over by a dump truck. The Cause, Inc. partnered with two local businesses, South Point Bob Evans and Uno Chicago Restaurant in Huntington, as well as members of the community to raise funds to help the Hughes Family.

APRIL 20-21, 2012 FIRST ANNUAL KAROLYN K. MURRAY MEMORIAL HEALTH FAIR and PRAISE AND WORSHIP SESSION
The Kickoff Concert was held Friday night at First Baptist Church of London, WV with the MLK Male Chorus and Vandalia Men's Chorus in concert. On Saturday at Washington High/London Community Center at 12 noon professional healthcare providers and organizations were on hand to offer vital health information and screenings. Saturday evening at 6 p.m. we gathered at All Nations Revival Center in Institute, WV for a Praise and Worship Fellowship. The Spiritual Harmonizers, All Nations Praise Team and the Viz N Heirs ministered through song.
We honor the memory of Karolyn K. Murray who passed in October 2011 after a long battle/suffering from various illnesses by promoting healthier lifestyle choices and promoting resource awareness in the health field.

The initial event held September 30-October 3, 2010 was absolutely amazing. Professional providers, hospitals, foundations and community service groups came out to provide information on the resources they offered. Each evening ended with worship in song by professional recording artists- Rev. Kenton Rogers, Rev. Lonnie Weaver and Genesis.
The 2nd Annual John L. Casey, Jr. Alumni event was held Thanksgiving Weekend 2011. John was able to come out and be a part of the festivities.
John has been diagnosed with Stage IV Adrenocortical carcinoma, which is a rare disease in which malignant cancer cells form in the outer layer of the adrenal gland, which has metastasized to his lungs. One in 1.6 million people contract this disease. John has undergoing radical chemotherapy protocol and underwent surgery in March to remove 72% of his liver and the adrenal gland. To date he is progressing and the liver is regenerating. He is a Master Barber in Charlotte, NC, but is unable to work due to the severity of his disease. Donations can still be made to help John and his family.

The Cause Awareness Event held on April 30-May 1, 2011 focused on Sarcoidosis. Yvonne Lewis-James, President and founder of the WV Sarcoidosis Foundation was the speaker for the day. FEBRUARY 25, 2012 AT NOON at First Baptist Burlington-CARDIAC AWARENESS LUNCHEON Dr. Eric Bronstein, cardiothoracic surgeon from King's Daughters Medical Center and other cardiac professionals, will be on hand to speak on cardiac issues. Cardiac patients are encouraged to attend. If you are interested in sharing your experience as a heart patient or have tips that helped your recover please let us know.
MARCH 3, 2012 at 2pm at First Baptist Burlington- NOT TOO YOUNG-FOCUSING ON SICKNESS IN OUR YOUTH. Our guests will include Bethany Bibb-double lung transplant patient, Timmy Davis-asthmatic and juvenile diabetic, Hannah Adams-heart patient and many more, Stacy Thacker-parent/caregiver; a special tribute to Dorothy "Princess" Curtis-parent/caregiver; representatives from Cabell Huntington Hospital Children's Hospital are scheduled to be on hand. Youth ministries will also be on hand.
